Hip and butt implants

Butt augmentation is one of the fastest-growing cosmetic procedures. Butt implant has one main aim, which is to enhance the shape of the buttocks. Butt implants are the artificial devices that are surgically placed in the buttocks to make it appear fuller and attractive. Some of the most popular butt surgeries are butt lifts, implants, and augmentation with grafting of fat. Cosmetic butt implants are curved silicone gel implants that are placed under the buttock skin to give the visible curvaceous appearance.

Silicone is the material that is used as a butt implant. Unlike injections, Solid silicone implants are placed in the buttocks through an incision in between the cheeks of the butt. The procedure is sometimes done along with the fat grafting to achieve the maximum results. Implants make your butts appear more voluminous, which is sometimes not possible to achieve with injections or fat grafting. Silicone implants are considered safe and effective for butt enlargement. Silicone implants for hips and butts along with fat grafting form an important part of body feminization procedures.

Procedure

The procedure is done either under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation. The surgeon makes an incision towards the top of the butt crease between both buttocks. A silicone implant that is specially made for the butts is inserted above the gluteal muscle on each side. The method of the insertion and positioning of the implants depends upon the type of the implant used, type of body, degree of enlargement desired, and the surgeon’s recommendations. Incisions are closed in the buttocks with sutures, surgical tape, and skin adhesive.

The results are immediately visible. With passing time, you will see post-surgical swelling to subside and fading of the incision line. Normally it takes 4-6 weeks for the swelling to subside and realize the final result.

Recovery

After the procedure, the patient is advised not to sit on the buttocks for at least 8-10 days until the sutures are healed. Mostly, the patient will be asked to rest on their stomach so as to allow the sutures to heal. A patient may also be asked to wear a compression pad to address the swelling.

A patient can resume full activities, including cycling, running, and gyming in four weeks following the surgery. The patient will start to feel that the implants are their body parts after six to eight months of the procedure. Known Complications

Like with any surgery, the procedure has some known risks like pain, skin discoloration, scarring, infection and bleeding. Sometimes silicone implants especially anatomical ones may move from their location, which can leave an uneven looking appearance of the buttocks and may need another surgery to fix it. Round implants do not suffer from this complication of displacement.

Recent advances

Butt implants have become more popular now than ever before. Due to the introduction of new techniques and modern implants, the procedure is safer and more convenient for the patient. With the advancement in the field of plastic surgery, the procedure has become almost pain-free with short recovery time.
